and travel via Dover to Oslo. EU-teams can catch up along the route or meet the others near Oslo the 15th of June where the Reliant Challenge 2008 will start! When I posted my idea (December 2007) for a 6000+ km road trip in my Reliant to the North Cape in 2008, I expected 2 or 3 fellow enthusiasts to join in. Now, 9 month later, no less than 38 teams, from 6 countries have signed in! I think a few teams will drop in the next month to come, but some more might enter. The limit of teams is set at 40 so there are only a few places left. I you are thinking to join in, think quickly!!!! We will put entries over 40 on a reserve list and they might be able to join when another team drops out. We have no Scimitar SS1, Scimitar Sabre and Scimitar Coupe on the list while most other models are covered!!! Again, be quick!!! At the end of 2007 entries will be closed. We will ask all teams to deposit £100. Most of this money will be returned when the team shows up at the start. A small amount will be used to cover expenses made for Rally shield, stickers, route books, trophy’s and some other expenses. All teams must show prove of full recovery insurance before the start. All cars will be scrutinized before the start. That does not mean your car has to shine but please do not enter with a banger with faulty brakes and bad electrics. You will be a danger for yourself and others, we will have to sent you home... In the past the Reliant 3-wheelers and small 4 -wheelers have not mixed very well with the sport cars like the Scimitar. As a enthusiast owner of a Robin, Ant TW9, Kitten, Fox, Cipher, Bond Bug and a Scimitar Coupe and GTE, I often wondered why. Looking at the list of enthusiasts who will try to arrive at the North Cape at midsummer day 2008, I'm sure this very first 'all Reliant' event will be no less than a success. I hope together we can enjoy those great cars from Tamworth, big and small for many years to come. North Cape is a monumental experience and offers a fascinating view from 307 meter above the North Atlantic Ocean, sometimes illuminated by the midnight sun. North Cape is something extraordinary - the climatic conditions, the dramatic cliff itself and the fact that one is located on the utmost point of Europe, enhances the experience. So, do you own a Reliant or a vehicle closely related to the brand like Bond, Liege and Tempest, why don't you join me, it will be the adventure of our lives! Scimitars, Robins, Kittens, Foxes, Regals, Regents, Bond Bugs, Rialto's, Anadols, TW9's, Sussita's, Rebels, Sabres, Sabra's and even Ford RS200's and Metrocab's from any country are welcome!
